Armed Citizen® Today

An armed citizen stepped in when an armed man allegedly opened fire on a woman in a Walmart parking lot in Piston Township, Pa. on June 1, 2022.

The man was in a conversation with a woman out in the parking lot, and at some point, produced a firearm and began to open fire on her. The shots alerted an armed citizen that was nearby in a nail salon. Upon hearing the shots, the bystander produced their own legally possessed concealed pistol and rushed outside to help.

Upon exiting the salon and encountering the aggressor, the armed citizen opened fire. The two exchanged fire, stopping the attacker's attempt to shoot his initial victim. After the incident, the aggressor, a New York City man, was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and possession of a prohibited firearm. (foxnews.com, New York, N.Y., 06/13/2022)

At first, William Tolbert thought the early morning noise in his Ensley, Ala., home was only his dog scratching at the window. But when he heard the noise again, the homeowner quickly armed himself. He discovered an armed man entering his home and ordered the man to lay down his weapon. The man refused, and Tolbert opened fire, wounding the burglar. Police disclosed the man was sought on warrants for burglary and rape in two earlier incidents. (The Post-Herald, Birmingham, Ala.)
