Armed Citizen® Today

The tenant in a rented Nevada house was forced to defend his life from a late-night intruder on Oct. 11, 2023, killing the suspect in the process in an incident police are confirming is a case of self-defense.

The suspect was allegedly dressed in dark clothes, wearing black leather gloves and made several attempts to break through the door of the home. The tenant armed himself and, when he found the intruder, had "seconds to act." The resident fired a number of shots at the intruder, killing him in the process.

The owner of the rental house indicated that the deceased suspect was another tenant he had been trying to evict for months. He alleged that the break-in might have been possible revenge for the eviction, but police said they still aren't sure of the motive behind the burglary. (News4; Verdi, Nev.; 10/11/23)
