Armed Citizen® Today

In what local police called a self-defense incident, a man shot another man in the street in the late evening of Sunday, January 5.

Police say the armed victim was assaulted in the street near a local gas station, prompting him to shoot his attacker, who fled and was later tracked down. The suspected assailant was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was also cited on suspicion of disorderly conduct. Police say the armed victim remained at the scene and cooperated with police. (The Spokesman Review; Spokane, Wash.; 1/10/25)

The young Lubbock, Texas, nurse fired just as the intruder charged. She managed to get off one more shot before he overpowered her, but that was enough. The wounded burglar fled and was arrested nearby. (The Evening Journal, Lubbock, Texas)
