Armed Citizen® Today

A 28-year-old alleged burglar is in the hospital after encountering an armed homeowner in Coos Bay, Ore.

At 1 in the morning on April 12, police received a call from a local resident, asking for police and medics to aid a man who had been shot inside the home. When officers arrived, they discovered the wounded man had attempted to break into the house and was armed with a golf club. The resident fired at the intruder, wounding him.

Officers provided care for the wounded intruder until paramedics arrived and transported him to a local hospital. Police say the resident and the alleged intruder did not know each other. At the time of reporting, no charges had yet been filed against the suspect. (ABC News 9; Coos Bay, Ore.; 4/12/24)
