Armed Citizen® Today

A group of what seemed to be enterprising young men seeking work turned out to be nothing of the sort when the trio encountered an empty home in Jackson, Miss.

On Wednesday, May 1, a woman answered the door to find three young men wearing hoodies and asking her if she wanted her lawn mowed. The woman declined their offer, causing the young men to move to another house in the same neighborhood, which happened to belong to the woman's daughter, who wasn't home. The three men broke into the home and were inside the house when the daughter returned.

Once she approached the house, the suspects allegedly fired shots at her. The woman was armed and fired shots back at the suspect, all three of whom fled. Neither the woman, nor the suspects were injured in the exchange of gunfire. Local police later captured one of the suspects, and the other two are still wanted. (WJTV; Jackson, Miss.; 5/1/24)

An unidentified Dallas housewife became scared when two men who had fixed a flat tire on her car moved toward her. When one of them grabbed her and pulled her from the car, she pointed a pistol in his face. The two men jumped into their car and fled. (Dallas Times Herald, Dallas, Texas)
