Armed Citizen® Today

A man described as "disturbed" by a local resident and who was apparently "undergoing some type of episode" according to local police was shot by a Hollywood Hills homeowner when he entered the homeowner's house and refused to leave.

Just before 11 a.m. on Dec. 5, 2023, police say the suspect in question had vandalized a car outside of the house in question and was "yelling in the street." The resident confronted the suspect, apparently a neighbor, outside the house, but then retreated into the home, followed by the man. The homeowner told the intruder to leave the house, and the suspect refused. The resident then shot and wounded the man, then called 911.

The wounded home intruder was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. Police detained the homeowner for questioning, but he was later released. (ABC 7; Hollywood Hills, Calif.; 12/5/23)
