Armed Citizen® Today

An Indiana homeowner defended his property from an alleged intruder on the evening of Jan. 2, 2024.

At 7 p.m., 911 operators received a call from an Indianapolis resident who reported that a person was actively breaking into their home. While on the phone, the homeowner told the operator that shots were being fired. When officers arrived at the house later, they found a 22-year-old suspect who had suffered gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The homeowner suffered no injuries during the invasion and after being taken to local police station for an interview, he was released. Officers believe there was at least one other suspect involved in the attempted home invasion, but they have not yet uncovered that suspect. (Indy Star; Indianapolis, Ind.; 1/2/24)

From the Armed Citizen® Archives – April 1983

A man and two women entered a Largo, Fla., diamond brokerage. After forcing the owner to the floor at gunpoint, one of the women accosted employee William Seabrook, striking him on the head with a crowbar. Though dazed, he removed a revolver from a desk and confronted the would-be robbers. They fled the premises, pursued by Seabrook, who apprehended the male bandit and one female accomplice.
