Armed Citizen® Today

A suspect suffered a serious wound after kicking in the door to an armed homeowner's house in Clovis, N.M., despite repeated warnings from the resident.

Around 11 p.m. on Dec. 4, police received a call from the homeowner saying that someone was attempting to break into their house. The resident was asleep and was awoken by the sound of banging on his front door. He told the unwelcome visitor to leave and that police were on their way. He also warned the trespasser that he was armed and would shoot if they entered the house.

Undeterred, the intruder kicked in the front door and entered the residence. The armed resident fired a single round, striking the suspect and causing him to fall to the ground. The homeowner then called 911 again to say he had shot an intruder and asked for an ambulance. The suspect was taken to an area hospital before being transferred to Lubbock, Texas, where he was listed in critical condition. (ABC7 News; Clovis, N.M.; 12/4/23)

Eugene Jewell was worried about being held up some night as he left his Bakersfield, Calif., grocery with the receipts, so he carried a .22-cal. pistol in his right hand. When two men grabbed him one night, he turned and fired two shots, critically wounding one man. (The Bakersfield Californian)

Why the Murder Rate Quickly Fell to a Likely Historic Low

If the gun-control Left is to be believed, then the murder rate in the U.S. should be going up. After all, gun sales and ownership rates have been rising for the last few decades and anti-gun groups claim that gun ownership is the cause of violent crime. This, of course, is nonsense.
