A homeowner in Harvey, N.D., shot a suspected burglar early on the morning of Friday, October 11, according to police reports.

Officers were dispatched to a local residence for reports of a burglary and shots fired just after 3:30 a.m. When they arrived on scene, they found the suspect suffering from gunshot wounds, and the person was life-flighted to a local hospital. Police say the man had been on probation at the time of the break-in and that the investigation was still ongoing. (KFYR TV; Harvey, N.D.; 10/11/24)

As Mrs. Sarah Edmondson, 55, was walking to work at a bakery in Baltimore, Md., at 5:30 a.m., a thug punched her in the face and stomach and knocked her to the street. “You know what I want!” he said. What he got was a .32-cal. pistol bullet in the neck from a handgun that Mrs. Edmondson yanked out of her handbag. Police followed a trail of blood and arrested a 26-year-old suspect.
