Armed Citizen® Today

A man who had attempted to break into several homes in Comanche, Okla., was stopped in his spree by an armed resident, according to a report from the Stephens County Sheriff's Office.

On the night of Tuesday, September 17, officers were dispatched to a local residence with the report that a man had attempted to force his way into the house. While on the way to the location, a separate 911 call came in, stating that the suspect had gone to a second residence, forced his way inside and that shots had been fired.

When deputies arrived, they found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead on the scene. No arrests were made in the case. (The Comanche Times; Comanche, Okla.; 9/18/24)

Having been robbed just the night before, Mrs. Carol Williams, manager of a San Antonio, Texas, convenience store, responded to another demand for money by reaching under the counter "for the money bag." Instead, she came up shooting with a .22-cal. pistol. The frightened robber fell to the floor, crawled to the door and ran outside with an accomplice. (The San Antonio News; San Antonio, Texas)
