Armed Citizen® Today

A resident of a Spartanburg, S.C., home defended himself and others when an armed man forced his way into the home on Aug. 21, 2021.

It all happened around 9:30 p.m. that Saturday night, when an intruder walked up to the back door of the home and kicked it in. When he made his way in, the intruder was brandishing a handgun and confronted the residents of the home. One of the residents armed himself with his own firearm and shot the armed invader in the neck. The intruder was taken to a hospital after authorities arrived, where he succumbed shortly thereafter. None of the residents inside the home at the time of the invasion were injured. (msn.com, Redmond, Wash., 08/23/2021)

From the Armed Citizen® Archives - January 1987

An 81-year-old Andalusia, Ala., woman turned the tables on an intruder she discovered in her bedroom. Awakened by the sound of a chamber pot being kicked over, the woman saw a man at the head of her bed. Taking a .38 from under a pillow, she shot and wounded the man, who fled. A police search of the nearby area yielded a wounded suspect, a man already facing charges in the attempted rape of a neighborhood elderly woman. (The News, Opp, Ala.)
