The Battle of Omaha Beach was not one battle, but six separate battles fought independent from one another. Each one was a small unit action and each one had a cast of characters that contributed meaningfully to a very dramatic story. The guns used on both sides in these battles were varied, and in some cases, surprising. From Pointe Du Hoc to the Dog Green Sector - from the shingle to the top of the bluff, the guns of Omaha are an important part of the human stories of courage, devotion to duty and sacrifice that made D-Day an unforgettable moment in American history.

Speaker Martin K. A. Morgan was formerly historian in residence at the National World War II Museum, he was hired by Stephen Ambrose, is a regular on too many TV shows to list here, but you can find him on the National Geographic Channel, the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, H2, the Weather Channel, Syfy, the Smithsonian Channel, and The Military Channel/The American Heroes Channel. He is a Field Editor for American Rifleman. Morgan is the author of Americans on D-Day and Down To Earth: The 507thParachute Infantry Regiment in Normandy.

This American Rifleman Special Presentation will be held at the 2019 NRA Annual Meetings on Friday, April 26 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in rooms 140-42 at the Indianapolis Convention Center. The presentation is free to NRA members and guests.
