High Standard firearms History | A Collector’s Guide

For lead author John Currie, High Standard Firearms History: 1932-1984 Connecticut, A Collector’s Guide has been a work more than 30 years in the making.

From the 1990s onward, Currie personally interviewed surviving employees from High Standard, recording details and information not found in factory records. With a team of other contributing authors, the final work provides a comprehensive look at the company’s history, as well as the firearms it produced from 1932 until 1984.

Separated into 15 chapters, along with supporting appendices and a short history of company founder Carl Swebilius, across 344 pages, the book offers details on High Standard’s military, sporting and commercial offerings, as well as insightful quotes and details from the men who were there.

For fans of this iconic 20th century armsmaker, High Standard Firearms History: A Collector’s Guide is a must-have. MSRP is $95. Available on Amazon.
