Taurus’ line of wheelguns includes everything from compact concealed-carry revolvers to full-power hunting handguns to retro single-actions. Amidst this extensive portfolio, the company still found a place for something different, with its new-for-2025 608 Competition revolver.

Introduced in 1997, the Taurus 608 series are medium-frame revolvers that incorporate a cylinder that holds eight rounds of .357 Mag./.38 Spl. With several upgrades over a standard 608, the Competition is Taurus’ “first competition-ready revolver designed to perform straight out of the box.”

Starting with a custom 6” bull barrel, with full-length underlug, the 608 Competition adds a fully-adjustable rear sight (which can be removed to allow for optics mounting) and a fixed front post with fiber-optic insert. The pull-weight of the trigger system is user adjustable by removing the grips and adjusting the mainspring without tools.

With a unique external profile to reduce overall weight and trigger-pull weight, the 608 Competition’s cylinder has chamfered chambers and uses a moonclip system of which speed up reloads. The revolver can also be loaded without the clips. VZ target grips with an engraved Taurus logo cap the revolver’s custom styling. All of the revolver’s features fit within the revolver regulations of USPSA or ICORE competitions. Constructed of stainless steel, metal surfaces are given a matte finish. The revolver weighs 51 ozs.

Why the Murder Rate Quickly Fell to a Likely Historic Low

If the gun-control Left is to be believed, then the murder rate in the U.S. should be going up. After all, gun sales and ownership rates have been rising for the last few decades and anti-gun groups claim that gun ownership is the cause of violent crime. This, of course, is nonsense.
