North American Arms (NAA) is well-known for its line of Mini-Revolvers, which combine rimfire cartridges with some of the smallest and lightest handguns made today. New for 2024, NAA is combining the features of two of its most popular models into one single-action revolver with the Sentinel, what the company calls a “swing-out tactical mini-revolver.”

The Sentinel combines the diminutive stature of NAA’s Pug revolver with the quick-loading capabilities of its swing-out cylinder Sidewinder model. At 4.9” long and 2.8” tall, with a weight of only 6.7 ozs., the Sentinel is the ultimate in concealment. The ease of loading the swing-out cylinder, along with self-defense cartridges available for its .22 WMR chambering, makes the Sentinel a viable personal protection option.

The details of the Sentinel support this purpose. The revolver is constructed of 17-4 stainless steel, including its five-shot cylinder and square-profile 1.425” barrel. Grips are rubber with a pebble-grain texture for a sure grip. The ejector rod head is large and textured for positive extraction and ejection. Sights are very serious for a handgun of this size, with an XS Sights white front dot combined with the company’s “express” rear V-notch.

The Sentinel is made in two configurations. The standard model is chambered in .22 WMR. It has an MSRP of $399. The Sentinel Conversion comes with a spare cylinder chambered in .22 LR and has an MSRP of $525.

Since the Sentinel’s features are based on well-established NAA models, a wide selection of accessories, such as grips and holsters, are already available for it. For more details, check out the North American Arms website here.
