Wilson Combat expanded its lineup of EDC X9 handguns in 2020, providing its most compact model yet in the form of the EDC X9S. The alloy-framed gun joins several models in the concealed-carry world that have pushed gun design into the micro-compact realm, such as the SIG Sauer P365 or Springfield Armory Hellcat. Now, Wilson Combat's X9S provides a premium option in the micro-compact market that offers expanded capacity in an easily carried size.

Unlike other small, double-stack models on the market, the Wilson Combat EDC X9S is constructed using a 7075-T6 aluminum-alloy frame, which is contoured and textured in a way that makes it comfortable and compatible in most shooters' hands. Unloaded, the alloy-framed pistol weighs 25.5 ozs., which is light enough to be carried comfortably all day while also providing more mass in the frame to tame the recoil of 9 mm Luger loads in such a compact platform. The compact slide assembly makes use of Wilson's Enhanced Reliability System, which is tailored to the different power levels of varying 9 mm Luger ammunition and designed to provide enhanced reliability, even with heavy fouling and poor lubrication.

Inside the frame of the Wilson Combat EDC X9S, consumers will find a medium-length trigger as standard, but three different trigger pads are available to customize the size of the pistol's frame to a user's hand. The guns are fed through a unique, double-column magazine designed in a joint effort between Wilson Combat and Mec-Gar engineering teams. The result is a 10-round, flush-fit magazine built from the ground up to provide premium performance. In addition to the 10-round magazine, each X9S ships with a 15-round extended magazine, complete with a machined-aluminum grip-frame extension.

The Wilson Combat EXC X9S can be ordered with or without a machined Picatinny accessory rail on the dust cover, and the pistol is compatible with most holsters on the market designed for 3.25"-barreled 1911s. Those X9S handguns ordered with an accessory rail are compatible with holsters designed for 3.5" 1911s. Other select features found in the Wilson Combat EDC X9S include a fluted chamber, fluted barrel, stainless-steel tri-top slide with external extractor, Concealment Battlesight, fiber-optic front sight and Wilson's X-TAC treatment on the front strap and backstrap of the frame.

The base MSRP on the Wilson Combat EDC X9S is $2,695. For more information, visit wilsoncombat.com.
