MidwayUSA has begun construction on its new Roosevelt administration building. It’s the latest addition to the 192 acres of land the company purchased in 2006, aptly named the "500 Year Campus" because it was thought to be large enough to handle company growth for five centuries.

The state-of-the-art Roosevelt administration building will be a two-story, 61,000-sq.-ft. facility to house slightly more than 200 employees across six departments. Construction is estimated to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025. Along with the 400,000-sq.-ft. Washington Distribution Center, the new building will complete the current plans for the new MidwayUSA campus.

“We are pleased to continue to support the growth of MidwayUSA through our new Roosevelt administration building,” said Larry Potterfield, MidwayUSA founder and chairman of the Board of Directors.

When the company first opened in 1977, it operated out of a modest 1,536 sq.-ft. building on slightly more than an acre of land. As business grew, four expansions in floor space followed, ultimately expanding the footprint to 10,000 square feet.

By 1988, operations outgrew the site, so the firm purchased 12 acres where it built a 30,000-sq.-ft. facility. More land was acquired—22 acres in 30 years—buildings were added or updated, and for roughly 30 years, the space was sufficient. In 2006, when a neighbor’s estate came on the market, the company purchased the 75 acres that is now MidwayUSA’s 500 Year Campus. The company remains based in Columbia, Mo.

The company has been a longstanding supporter of NRA throughout its history. Its roundup program alone has to date collected more than $23 million for the organization and its programs.
