Federal Premium has created a potent new high-capacity 12-gauge defensive option with its Force X2 Shorty load—merging two existing products by introducing the company’s wound-channel-multiplying FX2 buckshot to its lineup of 1¾" Shorty shells.

Each Shorty is loaded with six copper-plated 00 buckshot pellets engineered to split into two identical pieces upon impact with the target, simultaneously doubling the amount of tissue damaged with each shot while likewise limiting the risk of overpenetration. Not only do the shortened shells provide considerably greater magazine capacities in those firearms designed to cycle them, but they produce only a fraction of the recoil generated by traditional nine-pellet 2¾" 00 buck, while still being more than adequate to the task of stopping a threat.
