New from Winchester Repeating Arms, the Model 70 Long Range MB is the latest iteration of the “Rifleman’s Rifle” that is designed to connect with distant targets and provide modern hunters and shooters with a versatile platform that features Bell & Carlson’s robust foundation.

Winchester continues to supply principle features found successful in pre-1964 variants of this latest long-range rifle. A claw-type extractor delivers controlled-round feed functionality for enhanced performance through the entire loading and unloading process of the turn-bolt action. Feed lips within the receiver are included to improve function, too.

The rifle's receiver is made from steel, drilled-and-tapped and treated with a matte finish. The barrel, three sling studs, hinged floorplate and bolt handle are matte black as well. The bolt features jeweling, which is an attractive detail that further enhances functionality. Winchester supplies its well-regarded M.O.A. trigger system that works in conjunction with the bolt-mounted, three-position safety.

For the Model 70 Long Range MB, Winchester sourced a premium option from Bell & Carlson, which supplied a composite, crossover-style stock that sports a tan finish with black, spider web texturing. An aluminum bedding system works in concert with proprietary molding and use of composite, hand-laid materials to create a rigid gunstock. Four ventilation cuts found along the fore-end reduce the stock’s weight and promote barrel cooling. Additionally the fore-end features a wide, flat bottom for added stability, and two sling swivel stud are included for versatility.

Winchester is set to supply its Model 70 Long Range MB with 24” steel barrels that come fluted and capped with a muzzle brake, regardless of chambering. Eight chamberings are available for 2021 that include: .22-250 Rem., .243 Win., 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, 6.8 Western, .270 WSM, .300 WSM and .308 Win. Capacities vary from three to five rounds, depending upon chamber selection. Overall length of the rifle is 44” and rifle’s weight will deliver 7.5 lbs. in the hand.
