Fear & Loading: BATFE Backs Off... For Now

The BATFE announcement came earlier this afternoon. Read it carefully though, because it indicates we’ve won this battle, but there may be more down the line. “After the close of the comment period, ATF will process the comments received, further evaluate the issues raised therein, and provide additional open and transparent process (for example, through additional proposals and opportunities for comment) before proceeding with any framework.” (Read complete NRA-ILA story here.)

Hat tip to everyone who signed the White House petition, filed comments and contacted their representatives. And, special thanks go out to Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) who spearheaded an effort that gained the signatures of 238 members of the House of Representatives on a letter protesting the ban.
